    About

Hi, I’m Mike and I’ve been an avid wine drinker now for the past 15 years.  During that time, I have worked for four different wineries in the Temecula Valley, in various positions: behind the bar, private dinners, outside pouring events, harvest, tours, and management.  I’ve recently passed the WSET 2 with merit and I plan on continuing my education in wine. I really enjoy hosting blind wine tastings with friends and educating people on the basics of wine. Wine is subjective and everyone’s palate is different.  There are no wrong questions or choices when it comes to drinking wine.  The single most important thing you can learn about wine is — whether you like it or you don’t.  If you like it, buy it, for it may not be there the next time you’re in.

Hey everyone, I’m Spenser. Originally I worked in a small specialty wine shop for where I sold wine, conducted tastings, and tasted hundreds of wines from every major winemaking region on earth every year for over 4 years. After a stint in IT management and software development for 6 years, I decided to come back to the wine world where I work behind the bar at an established family owned winery in the Temecula Valley.  I hold a Level 2 Award in Wines from WSET and am currently going for Level 3. One of the most fascinating things about wine is how much there is to explore and learn about it. I can’t think of another type of beverage whose story weaves geology, geography, anthropology, meteorology, agricultural science, and chemistry all into one glass.
